Complete HVAC Installation

Complete HVAC Installation for New Homes, Additions, and Conversions

Some projects start from nothing: a new build, a gut renovation, an addition, or an older shore house that has never had central heating and cooling. Those jobs need a whole-system plan, not just an equipment swap.

Conlow designs and installs complete systems, including equipment, ductwork or ductless line sets, controls, and electrical connections, sized to the house you actually have.

Planning a system from the ground up

A complete installation starts with a room-by-room heat loss and heat gain calculation. Window area, insulation, ceiling height, and which way the house faces all change how much heating and cooling each room needs. Those numbers decide equipment size, duct sizes, and where supply and return vents go.

From there we choose the system type. A heat pump with ductwork, a gas furnace paired with central air, a ductless multi-zone system, or a mix of these can all be the right answer depending on fuel availability, the home’s layout, and whether it’s lived in year-round or seasonally.

On new construction and additions we coordinate with your builder on chase locations, equipment placement, and rough-in timing so ducts and line sets aren’t an afterthought squeezed in after the framing is closed.

What affects the price of a full installation

We quote each project after seeing it, because the same size house can vary a lot in cost. These are the biggest drivers.

System type
Ductless, ducted heat pump, and furnace-plus-AC systems differ in equipment and labor.
Ductwork
New duct runs, especially in finished spaces, are often a large share of the job.
Electrical service
Some homes need a new circuit or a panel upgrade for a heat pump.
Efficiency level
Higher-efficiency and variable-speed equipment costs more up front and less to run.
Number of zones
More zones or indoor units mean more equipment and controls.
Access
Crawlspaces, attics, and multi-story layouts affect labor time.

How a complete installation works

  1. Step 1

    Site visit

We walk the house or plans, measure, and talk through how you’ll use the space.

  2. Step 2

    Load calculation

Room-by-room numbers drive equipment and duct sizing.

  3. Step 3

    Written proposal

System options with equipment, scope, and price spelled out.

  4. Step 4

    Install and commission

We install, start up, test airflow and refrigerant charge, and show you the controls.

HVAC Installation questions

When should I bring you into a new construction project?

Before framing is finished. Equipment locations, duct chases, and line set routes are much easier to plan while walls and ceilings are still open.

Can you add central heating and cooling to a house that has never had ducts?

Often, yes. It depends on attic and crawlspace access. Where running ducts isn’t practical, a ductless or small-duct system can cover the house without opening walls.

Do I need a permit?

Most new HVAC installations in New Jersey require a permit from the local construction office. We’ll tell you what applies to your project and how inspection is scheduled.

Are there rebates for new heat pumps?

There may be. Utility and New Jersey Clean Energy Program incentives change regularly, so check current programs before you buy. We can tell you which equipment we’re quoting so you can confirm eligibility.
