Heat Pump Installation

Heat Pump Installation for Year-Round Comfort

A heat pump heats and cools your home with one outdoor unit, and in Cape May County’s mild coastal climate it’s one of the most efficient ways to do both.

We install ducted heat pumps, ductless systems, and dual-fuel setups paired with an existing furnace, all designed around how your home is built and used.

Why heat pumps fit the shore

Heat pumps move heat instead of burning fuel to make it. Our winters rarely stay in the deep cold for long, so a properly sized cold-climate heat pump can carry most or all of the heating load at a lower operating cost than electric resistance heat or propane.

Coastal installs need extra care. We choose equipment and placement with salt exposure in mind, elevate units where flooding or drifting snow is a concern, and make sure the defrost drainage won’t freeze into a hazard on walkways.

How we install your heat pump

  1. Step 1

    Load calculation

We size for winter heating, not just summer cooling.

  2. Step 2

    System design

Ducted, ductless, or dual-fuel, matched to your home.

  3. Step 3

    Installation

Outdoor unit set and protected, lines run, controls wired.

  4. Step 4

    Commissioning

Heating, cooling, defrost, and backup heat all tested.

Advantages of a heat pump

One system replaces a separate AC and heater.

High efficiency

Moves more heat energy than it consumes in electricity.

Comfortable, even heat

Longer, gentler run cycles than a furnace.

Possible incentives

Heat pumps may qualify for utility or federal programs. Ask us about current options.

Heat Pump Installation questions

Will a heat pump work when it’s below freezing?

Yes. Cold-climate models continue producing heat well below freezing. For the occasional very cold night, backup electric heat or a furnace can supplement.

Can I keep my gas furnace?

Yes. A dual-fuel system uses the heat pump most of the time and switches to the furnace when it’s very cold or when gas is cheaper to run.

Do I need new ductwork?

Not always. Many homes can use existing ducts, though some need modifications for proper airflow. Ductless heat pumps are an option where ducts aren’t practical.

Are there rebates for heat pumps?

Programs change frequently, so we’ll point you to current utility and federal incentive information during your estimate.
